In the Ashkenazi tradition, the Torah scrolls are tied at their ends to special sticks called Atzei Chaim . It literally means "Trees of Life." This name arises from a verse that states that the Torah "is a tree of life to those who hold fast to it." Hence the rabbis of our town know them by this name, since we hold the Sefer Torah from them.
They usually have a certain useful life, so it is suggested that they be replaced when they have expired.
Through an optical inspection of the old Atzei Chaim , or photos that you can send us, we will be able to advise you on the matter.
The Atzei Chaim that we provide are manufactured in Israel and ordered according to the size of the scrolls that make up the scroll.
