The Shofar is a horn made especially to be used ritually. It can be made from the horn of any Casher animal that can be hollowed out, has some curve, and measures at least a palm.
It is used at different times of the year, especially Rosh Hashanah. On this occasion, the Shofar used in the synagogue by the person in charge of blowing the Shofar in public is usually made of sheep, although if one is not available, it may be made of another animal. Any Shofar is valid for all other uses.
This publication corresponds to the Ram Shofar from 29 to 33 cm
The measurement is taken by its outer curved surface.
