Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday full of meaning and symbolism, celebrated for eight nights.
At the center of this celebration is the Chanukia, a nine-branched candelabrum used exclusively during Hanukkah. The eight arms represent the nights in which the candles are lit, with an additional candle, called "Shamash" or server, used to light the others.
Hanukkah commemorates the miracle of oil at the Temple in Jerusalem, where a small amount of oil enough for just one day miraculously lasted eight days. By lighting the Chanukia candles, this event is remembered and the victory of the Maccabees over oppression is celebrated.
Hanukkah not only physically illuminates homes, but also symbolizes spiritual light and resilience in the face of adversity.
